2013 has been a whirlwind year for me. I have succesfully rebranded my business and Louis Q Photography has been taking off like a bat out of heck….I remain sincerely humbled and appreciative of all my supporters, friends and family. My facebook page continues to grow with new likes weekly. Although I am not where I’d like to be yet, the likes steadily climb through networking and shares without purchasing facebook ads.
I have been ordering several prints each payday and building my inventory of various sizes of metal as well as standard lustre and glossy prints that I have been matting and cutting myself with a recent mat cutting system that I set up in my basement studio in preparation for participating in galleries, art shows and festivals in 2014.
My portrait sessions have picked up tremendously in the past two months and I have made the decision to limit facebook posts of private images unless otherwise requested by my clients due to copyright and privacy issues. Also, I am not impressed with the image quality of facebook as well as this social media site being literally flooded with hundreds of images on a weekly basis by so many other aspiring photographers. I love seeing what other folks are up to, but it gets old after a while and I’d rather have the element of surprise and anticipation of what I may post.
Speaking of portraiture work, I am also VERY pleased to announce that my old friend and shooting partner Andy, of A.D.Wheeler Photography, and I have teamed up to open our own studio in Sayre, PA by the fall of 2013. Studio X Imaging will provide cutting edge portraiture, product, event photography with high end lighting, green screen and composite work, superb editing and retouching services as well as educational seminars, workshops and tutorials. Watch for upcoming announcements in the near future about our grand opening in the Sayre Incubator-Enterprise Center !!
Lastly, Andy and I are gearing up for a two week cross country photo adventure to the Southwestern United States via old route 66. We will be leaving on October 10, 2013 and arriving home around the 23rd. Along our route we will try to capture the beauty of the American landscape and ruins along 66 as well as abandoned mining towns of the West. We will spend about a week in and around Utah and Arizona capturing the beauty of the slot canyons, the Grand Canyon, Zion and Arches National Parks and Monument Valley. On our return trip we may hit either the Tetons in Wyoming depending on time and weather of course or Aspen, Colorado. It looks as if we may be there during some killer fall foliage colors. Andy and I have started a Kickstarter program where fans and supporters can back us on this trip. In return, those that pledge will receive some awesome pieces of signed limited art prints from this photographic journey and amazing reward discounts!!
Please take the time to check out this Kickstarter Program and pledge if you can, or simply share with your family and friends. I guarantee those that help us achieve our goal will be very satisfied with your reward. Check us out here.
